A Century of Facebook

Time flies, doesn’t it?

I was looking at the latest statistics and checking out some new software which enables you to figure out just how many hours of your life have been spent on Facebook. I’m not going to give you those links though. Because, personally, I like you and I’d hate to be the bearer of such shocking and – let’s be honest – really depressing news.  (And don’t give me that face. You know how to use Google just like everyone else.)

Instead I thought I’d share with you some more reassuring news instead. I stumbled into the Facebook archives last night and found my great-great-grandfather’s old Facebook page. I was lucky to find it, especially since I know for a fact he deleted his profile back in 1912.

It’s amazing how little things change. Fascinations with new technologies. Squandering time on Farmville after a day of tilling the soil and milking the cows. (I don’t think Mafia Wars was released yet.)

So here’s a snapshot of what life on Facebook was like 100 years ago. Happy Anniversary Facebook, btw!
